Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) is a premier organization for Collection and Dissemination of Scientific & Technological Information to cater to the information needs of the scientific community at National Level.
PASTIC in collaboration with University of Malakand organised one day Project Awareness and training activity on 22nd July, 2024 to empower the Journal Publishers community and researchers with modern Journal publishing tools and techniques.
The main objective was to introduce the project Scope to the stakeholders. Through this project, PASTIC is aimed to develop networking of journals publishers’ community, preservation of national research content and development of visualization model to review research trends at country level. PASTIC will support journal publishers by providing free journal hosting, data import/backup services and financial assistance for digitization and capacity building of publishers, editors and scientific community.
Activity was performed under development project titled “National Digital Archive of Research Published in Pakistani Journals” which aims to provide single electronic-platform to Journals publisher’s community for preservation and dissemination of research published in indigenous research Journals. Sixty (60) journal Publishers and Researchers from Swat region participated in the activity. Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, University of Malakand was the Chief Guest and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram Shaikh, Member Science, Pakistan Science Foundation was the guest of honour of the opening ceremony. Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, Director, Centre of Computational Materials Sciences welcome the PASTIC team and all the distinguished participants during the opening ceremony of the project activity. Project Manager, Mr. Saifullah Azim briefly introduced the project’s current achievements and ongoing plans. He also delivered his technical talk on modern approaches toward keyword planning and searching.
